On 21 November at 7 pm, we invite you to the second event of the NICHE concert series at Kaunas Artists' House. During the series, Lithuanian sound artists and composers will present live performances of vocal, electronic, alternative, and experimental works, revealing new possibilities for voice and sound. Diverse methodologies and sonic expressions - from minimalist solos to performative electroacoustic compositions - will create unique experiences and provoke new ways of listening.

THE CONCERT WILL FEATURE:

▞ "Sodas Choir" is a community collective of the cultural complex "Sodas 2123", uniting artists, researchers, and other creative professions from various artistic fields.

The concert will present the practice of community music-making, including contemporary, classical, and non-European choral singing traditions. "Sodas Choir" invites you to become active participants in the event and to experience a unique communal sonic experience for non-professionals through a collective, experimental music-making process.

▞ "Longing" - an experimental duo of Justina Mykolaitytė (vocals) and Godo Yorke (e-guitar), who interpret music composed more than four centuries ago in their own way. Nostalgia-infused electric guitar chords and baroque vocals create a temporary space to encounter what we long for. In four melancholic arias, the performers "stretch" the kism and contrast of baroque music to linger in the affect of longing.
